The long-distance education has gained force in recent years in all the country. In Brazil, we have as precursory the International School (1904) with its courses for correspondence. We had other important landmarks: the Foundation Monitorial Radio (1939), the Brazilian Universal Institute (1941), the Tele-education (years 60), the Project Minerva and Telecurso 2000, the creation of the Brazilian Association of Education in the distance (Abed) in 1995 and the recognition of the EAD as modality of education for the MEC (normalized for the LDB in 1996 and 1998).
