This work approaches the Prosamim as instrument of social intervention for recovery of the edge of igaraps in Manaus. In the historical construction of the city of Manaus, igaraps had always been part of the urban landscape, serving of way of locomotion and as housing, also strengthening in this way, an affective, cultural and economic bow. However, had the planning lack the edge of diverse igaraps of the city of Manaus had been being busy in irregular way, giving to place to a composed landscape of palafitas and irregular constructions. (Source: Jorge Perez). To try to recoup the edge of igaraps the Prosamim was created. This program of the government of the State, conveniado with the Inter-American Bank of Development? BID has as strategy to remove the families who if find the edges of igaraps of Manaus, remanejando for other localities, where they can have the adequate conditions of housing, with all necessary infrastructure. The time of execution of these workmanships will be of eight years, understanding workmanships first in the basin of Quarenta-Educandos, more necessarily in igaraps Master Chico, Manaus and Bittencourt.

The benefits of this project are undeniable, concurring in this direction mainly the families who will be able to reach one better quality of life and, therefore, the society that will start to enjoy of a lined up ambient landscape to a modern urban planning. The adopted methodology involved how much to the ends the description of the historical, social and economic importance of igaraps for the city of Manaus. How much to the ways she was bibliographical, with consultation the books that had assisted in the reach of the objectives. One concludes that this program will have to restore the landscape ambient and to improve the quality of life of the involved families, however, other actions are necessary to recoup waters.
